AniManGaki 2018

via AniManGaki

AniManGaki is a community-based Animation, Comics, and Games (ACG) event that helds at Sunway Pyramid Convention Center every year. Second in line before Comic Fiesta, AniManGaki has grown rapidly over the years; being one of the best ACG events in Malaysia from a small humble college event.

AniManGaki 2018 is going to be our 10th year anniversary and we are going to celebrate it with a blast! Lots of activities and fancy decorations were planned out for this marvelous year.

After 6 years actively involved with the community, I decided to step down as the Head of Design and major in Website alone.

UI/UX Design

After 3 years using the same template and in conjuction of our 10th year anniversary, I have decided to redesign the whole website. While referring to international websites & user flow behaviour via Google Analytics, the current website undergo some structural changes for better browsing experience. At the same time, some minor interface elements were also improved. A lot of attention was given on the page layout design to ensure that the message was delivered precisely as there were lots of texts to deal with. Furthermore, Hotjar was implemented for user behavior study to verify if the pages are effectively designed or not.

Web Development

Since it's still a simple website and for customization purposes, the website was still kept at static PHP. At AniManGaki, we encourage curious learners to learn and in the web team, we have 2 juniors this year. As the senior, I guided these passionate juniors to build the web pages via coding in text editor. Unlike the previous template, this year's template involve with even more logic to manage multiple, organized directories for ease of maintenance in the future.
